Hey everyone,
I'm encountering a strange issue on my ThinkPad T14 Gen 1 AMD after a fresh install. I'm hoping someone here might have some insights or suggestions because I'm at my wits' end.
Initially, when I did the first install, everything was smooth sailing. I was really impressed with how well it handled the hardware, especially since I know the AMDGPU driver can sometimes be a bit finicky. No issues at all, no display glitches, and everything seemed to be working perfectly, including my two external monitors.
However, in my attempt to tweak the system further, I decided to enable zswap for better memory management. Long story short, I ended up bricking the system (rookie mistake, I know). I had no choice but to do a fresh install.
After the fresh install, things haven't been the same. Now, I'm running into a persistent AMDGPU error that wasn't there before. Even more frustrating is that my two external monitors—especially the one connected via HDMI—are causing weird bugs. Sometimes, the HDMI monitor won't display anything at all until I re-plug the cable or power cycle the monitor. Other times, the display comes on but is extremely glitchy, with screen tearing, flickering, or just flat-out freezing.
What’s baffling is that the exact same setup worked flawlessly on my first install, but now, with the fresh install (after the zram mistake), I’m seeing all these issues. I’m wondering if something got messed up with the fresh install, or if there’s a specific configuration that I’m missing this time around.
