I have a PC with a Threadripper Pro and 128GB of RAM.
I do some web development, as well as graphic design and photo editing.
I like to use Adobe Suite (Windows, of course) for the photo/video editing, but I really like to use Linux for everything else.
I also would like to support another user on this machine, my wife, in this case, for when we both need a somewhat powerful machine to use.
I'm thinking about creating a couple Windows VMs, and a Linux VM, each with their own GPU and USB controller passed through. The Linux host machine, itself would have its own, albeit less powerful, GPU.
One of the Windows VMs would be allocated for my wife, situated in the same home office. The host machine, the Linux VM and the other Windows VM would be mine. I'd use a KVM switch to toggle between the three.
I could use the Linux host machine as my main Linux machine, but I'd rather incovenience my wife less in the even that I need to reboot.
Would Debian 12 be a good option for this? Should I consider something like Proxmox if I don't need a GUI on the host machine?
