Beginners Questions • [Software] Trouble running Putty

run putty ver 0.78 from terminal in Debian 12 and get the following display on the command line:

XXX@debian1207:~$ putty

(putty:1951): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 05:01:19.307: gtk_box_gadget_distribute: assertion 'size >= 0' failed in GtkScrollbar

(putty:1951): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 05:01:19.311: gtk_box_gadget_distribute: assertion 'size >= 0' failed in GtkScrollbar

Normal display ;loads but will not run.

Like some pointers on how to get it to run. Never had this problem before. I just did a complete new reload
