One of our staff members bought an Asus Zenbook 14 Q425M for home use. We tested it with Debian Testing Live USB (weekly build, 09/09/2024). Things are not as smooth as our other office computers (all of which are AMD based), but we finally got it to work. One exception was that there is no sound from the build-in speakers. Sounds from the usb-C port and the headphone jack are OK.
Lspci shows that the sound card is part of Intel's Meteor Lake chip, and a quick and dirty internet search shows that no Linux driver is yet available. Bummer. We may have to return this laptop? ? ? (The beauty with using a live usb is that we don't have to touch the Windows thus the machine is in a return-ready condition.)
