I'm attempting to set up a dual-boot system with Windows and Debian. My current setup is:
1 - Windows installed on an SSD
2 - A 1TB hard disk used for data storage
I want to install Debian on the 1TB hard disk alongside my existing data. To prepare for this, I've done the following:
1 - Used Windows Disk Management to shrink the existing partition on the 1TB hard disk
2 - Left the newly created space as unallocated
However, when I run the Debian installer, it doesn't detect or display this unallocated space as an option for installation.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue or can provide guidance on how to proceed? Specifically:
1 - Why might the Debian installer not recognize the unallocated space?
2 - Are there any additional steps I should take to prepare the hard disk?
Thanks in advance!
