Hello dear Debian-Admins
We are issuing Problems with booting into XEN-VMs on:
Server: Dell PowerEdge R740
Controller: PERC H730P Mini (Integriert)
Server: PowerEdge R740
Controller: PERC H740P Adapter
Both server installed with Bullseye an XEN, no problem. They are working properly.
Another Server (Dell PE720 with PERC H710P Mini (Integriert)) also working with Bookworm and XEN.
While booting the VM following Errors appear:
Begin: Running /scripts/local-block ... done.
[ 24.822432] I/O error, dev xvda2, sector 0 op 0x0:(READ) flags 0x80700 phys_seg 4 prio class 2
[ 24.833369] I/O error, dev xvda2, sector 0 op 0x0:(READ) flags 0x0 phys_seg 1 prio class 2

[ 37.433355] Buffer I/O error on dev xvda2, logical block 67108848, async page read
done.
Gave up waiting for root file system device. Common problems:
- Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
- Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?)
- Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
ALERT! /dev/xvda2 does not exist. Dropping to a shell!
(initramfs)
This is the first time we have issues with Debian and XEN.
Any ideas?
Regards, Christoph
