Hi all,
I'm new to Debian and pretty rusty on Linux as a whole, so please go easy on me. I've just finished installing Debian stable with XFCE. The system boots and lets me log in but the menu buttons for hibernate, shutdown and reboot are all greyed out. I can still shut it down from the terminal.
If it matters, the computer is not connected to the network nor was it during installation, as ebay hasn't delivered my wifi card yet. I also did not set a root password during install. Other than a slightly odd partition table, there should be nothing else out of the ordinary about my installation. Can anyone give me any pointers on how to fix this?
